A.Z. Q&A

Your name:
Clark Walker.

Where are you from?
Arab, Alabama, USA.

Name of band:
A.Z.

Who else is in your band?
Josh Thompson and Drew Hobbs.

How would you describe yourselves?
Hard hitting melodic metal with deep lyrical content. Heavy enough for many-a-mosh-pit yet melodic enough to get stuck in your head all day.

Who are your main influences musically?
John Petrucci, Steve Vai, The Nixons, Metallica, Sevendust, Taproot, Lamb of God, All That Remains, Bach, Nothing Face, Stereomud, Pulse Ultra, Classical Violin, Bury Your Dead, A Perfect Circle, etc..

What do you hope to achieve in music?
To be able to pay my bills doing what I love.

What has been the highlight of your career so far, and why?
Getting to create this machine which we call A.Z. It's all about the journey.

And what’s the moment you want to forget? Almost every battle of the bands we ever played. (Needless to say, we don't do those anymore, lol)

If you could choose just one of your songs to represent your music, what would it be and why?
Probably an old song called "3 Days" which will be on our new album. It's very angry and driving, yet deep in meaning. It reflects us as a band very well. Over these 15 years we have learned to turn the anger and disappointment into drive and focus. To push forward and don't slow down!

Where can we listen to it ?
This song is not available as of yet but will be featured on our up and coming album "Brutally Beautiful" due out soon. You may check out other songs and link to our other sites from our main webpage. http://www.azband.com

Anything else you’d like to say about your band that I forgot to ask?
The original music industry - My thoughts "Love it, or leave it" there is no in between here. The most cruel industry on the planet but can also be the most rewarding in so many ways. Horns Up Breeders! :P
